Inside Out
Do We Ever Really Know Ourselves?
We spend our lives trying to “find ourselves” — but what if there’s no final version to find?
In this episode, I explore the idea that identity isn’t something we uncover once and for all, but something we build, change, and outgrow with every experience.
Join me for a deep dive into self-awareness, growth, and the uncomfortable beauty of being a work in progress.
Because maybe the goal isn’t to know ourselves — but to keep meeting who we are becoming.

Episode Title: Do We Ever Really Know Ourselves?
Welcome to Inside Out — the podcast where I talk about… well, everything that makes my brain go “hmm.”
From history to mystery, from empowerment to the random thoughts that hit me at 2 AM, nothing’s off-limits.
It’s a mix of knowledge, chaos, beauty, and occasional deep thoughts from a writer who’s just trying to make sense of the world — one tangent at a time.So grab your coffee (or something stronger), and let’s turn the world Inside Out.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about how we spend our entire lives trying to “find ourselves.”
It’s in every book, every movie, every motivational quote. “Know who you are.”
But what if we never actually do?
What if the “self” we think we know is just a collection of stories — ones we’ve told ourselves for so long that they feel like truth?
Because, honestly, who are you when no one’s watching?
Who are you when you’re not trying to be the funny one, the responsible one, the strong one, the good one?
When you strip away the roles, the expectations, the filters — what’s left?
Maybe that’s the real question:
Do we ever meet ourselves beyond the versions we perform?
🪞 The Shifting Mirror
The truth is, we’re not static.
We change — constantly, quietly, sometimes without even realizing it.
The things we once loved, we outgrow. The opinions we held so tightly, we unlearn. The people we thought we’d be — we become strangers to them.
And yet, we still cling to this idea that there’s one “true” version of us waiting to be discovered, like buried treasure.
But what if we’re not meant to be found — what if we’re meant to be created, over and over again?
Maybe we don’t discover who we are.
Maybe we decide.
💭 Tangent Moment (because, of course)
Sometimes I wonder if we really want to know ourselves — or if we just want to know a version of ourselves that’s easy to love.
The curated one. The one with purpose, with clarity, with a neat little narrative arc.
But the truth is… self-awareness isn’t always pretty.
Sometimes you meet parts of yourself that are jealous, bitter, or afraid.
Parts that sabotage you, or crave validation, or cling to what’s bad for you because it feels safe.
And maybe that’s why we keep ourselves half-blind — because full honesty would demand change.
And change is uncomfortable.
🌿 The Evolution of “Me”
Here’s a thought: maybe we’re not supposed to “arrive.”
Maybe life isn’t about knowing yourself — it’s about understanding yourself enough to stay curious.
Because the person you are today isn’t the same person you were five years ago — and that’s not a failure. That’s growth.
Every heartbreak, every phase, every wrong turn — it all adds layers to your identity.
We’re mosaics made of mistakes, memories, and moments of clarity.
And maybe the beauty lies in never being finished.
☕ Pause Moment
So, do we ever really know ourselves?
Maybe not completely.
But maybe that’s the point.
Because in not knowing, there’s room to explore, to evolve, to surprise ourselves.
And maybe that’s what makes life interesting — the idea that every day, we have a chance to meet a new version of who we are becoming.
That’s it for today’s episode of Inside Out.
If this one made you think — or made you question yourself a little — good. That’s where all the best discoveries begin.
Remember: you’re a work in progress, and that’s a beautiful thing.
Until next time, keep learning, keep unlearning, and keep turning the world… Inside Out.
